Ellie and I went to see Rhinefield House and Careys Manor. Two potential venues for our wedding. These were very different from each other so it is difficult to compare the two as they were in high contrast.

We also popped over to The Happy Cheese where a number of friends were hanging out as the nearby campsite was a washout.

I proposed to my wonderful girlfriend Ellie! While on a steep walk up towards the mountainous region of Limone we paused to observe the valley and the lake below alongside a stream, I knelt down on bended knee and asked ‘Will you marry me, sweetheart?’ to an instant reply of ‘Of course I will’.

A surrogate ring was presented from my pocket, an earlier purchase from our day trip to Malcesine. After a glass of wine in the nearby restaurant and a stroll into town, found us at the jewellers and discussing the potential candidates.

Celebrations ensued with plenty of bubbly wine and wonderful food at the ‘Gemma’, a fantastic restaurant on the edge of Lake Garda.

Upon our return our respective families are over the moon!
